In September I got to go to Iceland.
It was the most beautiful trip. And in the middle of sight-seeing, exploring, and eating all the pastries from the bakery next door (which I will post pictures of soon), I got to do Rakel and Haukur’s family portraits.
Walking amongst the lava fields on a blustery day made this family session extremely special, and a huge highlight of the trip.
I mean, come on! SO adorable!
Look at these two. Just look at them!!! <3 SO amazing and adorable.
The contrast of the red dirt near the black dirt, and then the moss… It’s too beautiful to explain.
And the girls, Klara and Lilly, SHINED. It was cold and drizzly, but they were troopers. Smiling, playing, hugging, jumping.
I absolutely loved the challenge of telling them what to do with hand motions, because, well, I don’t speak Icelandic yet, and they don’t speak English yet. “Twirl around like a Princess” and “kiss her on the cheek” look the same no matter what language you speak.
OH THE SNUGGLES! <3
Take me back to Iceland. Take me back
Thank you, Haukur and Rakel for letting me take these pictures. <3 Your family is beautiful, and I can’t wait to come back!
