You meet people in life for a reason, season, or a lifetime.
Emily Grimmius and I met just outside my studio in the EXACT same month I was researching community organizations to collaborate with. Emily is competing for the title of Miss West Sound 2018, a preliminary in the Miss America Organization. I am so incredibly excited to sponsor her efforts in our community. Emily’s platform is “Opportunity Knocks, We Answer” and she is currently working to improve the opportunity gap for children on the Kitsap Peninsula. As it turns out, she works two doors down from my studio, so now I have someone to chat with when I work late 😉
Emily and I decided to partner in a photo shoot together in one of our many meetings. When I saw her beautiful “candlelight” shade dress, I knew the colors and aesthetic of the Howe County Park would be a perfect destination shoot location.
When it comes to destination shoots there is a lot to consider. With her hair color, skin tone, dress shade, and my knowledge of the park location and lighting, I knew it was going to be a beautiful session. I originally envisioned sunlight and backlit sun flairs, but the morning started out gray and drizzly. Well lucky for us, the rain stopped just in time for pictures and created perfect lighting, even better than I imagined.
More than anything, it was simply fun to take big-twirly-dress pictures. I was pretty much jumping up and down with excitement the entire time! Fun, luxurious, and client-centric destination photoshoots is what we specialize in here at Vanilla Bean Photography. Our clients love us, those who see our photographs love us, we know you will too!
